Welcome to my new blog!!! I am so excited to start this new adventure!!
A little bit about me.....
I am a mother of 2. Savannah,3, is a princess who really believes she should be part of the Disney empire. She loves to look and dramatize the part. Never a dull moment with Cinderella, Snow White, and Alice all rolled into one around. Adam,2, is my little Adam bug. He's such a happy go lucky boy. He's got a smile and laugh that melts your heart. I have the best kids a mom could ask for!!
I have a wonderful husband and best friend, Greg, whom I've been married to for almost 10 years. Adam must take after him because he is so laid back. He's also such a wonderful hands on daddy. I couldn't ask for more!!!
I have always wanted to be in the fashion industry from the time I was a little girl, drawing with my fashion plates and reading my teen fashion magazines. To pursue my dream, I attended the University of Arkansas and majored in Apparel Studies with a minor in marketing. I took many design, sewing, and merchandising classes and loved every minute of it. After college, I was recruited by Sears, Roebuck, & Co. (which they no longer are) and took a job in Dallas working for them. An opportunity presented itself to my husband soon after and we moved to Little Rock. I was offered a position with Dillards and worked there as a manager of shoes then womens apparel for 3 years. I worked with some of the Dillards, buyers, and my many associates, and learned so much from them. After my son was born, I knew it was time to stay at home and focus on my family. But I still have a desire and love for fashion. It just switched from women's to children's, which I have found to be so much more enjoyable and fun to do!!!
I have lots of inspiration around me; my wonderful babies and nieces, friends, family, and the natural state. What can clear your mind more than sitting on a mountain overlooking the valley, watching a waterfall, or just taking a stroll through the woods????
All this brings me all to this one point:
I offer children's clothing, accessories, and furnishings with a chic Southern twist. I want to share my wonderful journey and beautiful products with you. I also want to feature other Southern Designers that I find intriguing, how to posts on anything from sewing to baking to gardening, and just interesting tidbits . A little bit of everything, southern style.
